Abstract

1,102,585. Cantilever partition panels. VENESTA MANUFACTURING Ltd. 13, June, 1966, [2, April, 1965], No. 14068/65. Heading E1W. A partition panel includes two opposed outer faces of sheet material 1 disposed at such an angle to one another as to define a tapering configuration, the thicker edge of the panel being adapted for fastening to a wall 9 at points spaced along the edge and across the thickness thereof whereby the panel may be supported from the wall in cantilever fashion free from the floor and ceiling, the whole panel comprising a braced structure to resist both vertical and horizontal forces. The faces of sheet material are braced by an internal metal frame 2 which at the lower end of the thicker edge carries a spaced pair of bolts 15 which engage a bracket 14 fixed to the wall 9 and at the upper end is apertured to receive a spaced pair of threaded extensions 10a extending from the wall. Nuts 16 on the threaded extensions permit the panel to be adjusted in vertical and horizontal planes before it is secured thereby.
