Abstract

1,101,210. Safety guards. PROCTER BROS. (WIREWORKS) Ltd. 16, Nov., 1966 [8, Dec., 1965], No. 51948/65. Heading E1J. A safety gate, guard or like barrier comprises two panels 7 with upper and lower rails 5, 6 each having a lug 8 slidalbly to receive a rail on the other panel 7 and to prevent separation of the panels 7 in a direction normal to the barrier plane channel guides 13 having stop plates at the top are attached to jambs 10, 11 to engage with the styles 4 to prevent the barrier's removal until the panels 7 are slid to reduce the gate width. In a modification the faces of the styles of different panels 7 and the opposing jamb faces have cooperating male and female members to prevent barrier movement before sliding in a direction normal to its plane.
