Abstract

The sliding fire door (1) is fabricated of steel and includes edge joints which serve to resist the passage of flames and smoke. The joints are tongues and grooves with the grooves (5) formed by channel sections (7) and the tongues (6) by rectangular sections. The channels (7) may be build onto the door edges, and the tongues (6) onto the frame to the door opening. The joint may be provided on the top, closure and opening leaf edges. In the case of the latter edge, the tongue takes the form of an angle iron fixed to the frame post. The top joint may have a tongue which is built onto the roller rail (2), and all channels may include thermo-expandible beadings.
