1515676 Sliding windows BKL ALLOYS Ltd I July 1976 [3 July 1975] 27979/75 Heading E1J A frame for a sliding door or window particularly of the patio type includes a sill member 13 having a channel 20 with a track rib 24 and a support portion 21 with a track rib 28 which support the sliding panels 11, 12 respectively; the sill member consists of a base portion 18 including one side 22 of the channel and an upper portion 19 secured by screws 35 and including the other side 27 of the channel. This arrangement enables the panel 11 to be installed without having to be lifted over the channel side so that the channel 20 may be made deeper and the channel 45 in the upper frame member 14 made shallower with resulting improvement in the weather protection offered.
