Abstract

1,098,423. Bending pipes. HILGERS MASCHINEN - UND APPARATE - BAUANSTALT m.b.H. July 29, 1965 [Aug. 1, 1964], No. 32473/65. Heading B3E. Pipe bending apparatus including a bending pattern to which the pipe is secured and around which the pipe is bent on rotation of the pattern, the unbent portion of the pipe being urged longitudinally towards the bending pattern by a pressure which moves during the course of the bending operation, the said pressure being controlled by means moving in synchronism with the bending pattern and comprising a plurality of cam members separately adjustable on a carrier so as to provide a stepped curve profile. Tubing 13 is clamped at 14 to a rotated bending pattern 12, the unbent trailing portion of the tubing being urged longitudinally towards the pattern 12 by hydraulic means controlled by a valve 25, the valve 25 is operated by a feeler 24 moved by a series of cam rings 18, 19, 20 adjustably secured to a carrier 16 rotated in synchronism with the bending pattern 12 and also carrying means 17 which switch off the drive to the pattern 12. The rings 18, 19, 20 are adjusted so as to form a stepped curve profile.
