541,527. Asbestos-cement pipes. TURNER & NEWALL, Ltd., and CANN, J. A. May 27, 1940, No. 9321. [Class 99 (ii)] In a machine in which asbestos-cement is applied to a rotating mandrel 2 by a conveyer belt 1, fixed pressure rollers 4, 5 are arranged above the mandrel and an adjustable pressure roller 3 is arranged below the mandrel and operated by an hydraulic ram 8 during the building-up of the pipe. The position of the fixed rollers is adjustable on the support 10 to suit different sizes of mandrel.
