500,772. Machines for making asbestoscement &c. pipes. HARDIE & CO. PTY., Ltd., J. April 11, 1938, No. 11117. Convention date, June 15, 1937. [Class 99 (ii)] In a machine for making asbestos-cement &c. pipes, of the kind in which asbestos-cement is applied to a mandrel 5 by a conveyer belt 7 and is consolidated thereon by pressure, the application of pressure is effected by two parallel sets of rollers 8. The latter are rotatably mounted in brackets 9 which are bolted to longitudinal members 10 and are provided with seatings 11 for pressure-applying hydraulic rams &c. 12. the rollers may be covered with rubber, with or without a further covering of fabric, and, as shown, the gaps between the rollers of one set are staggered with respect to those of the other set.
