Abstract

1,097,905. Castors. HOMA ENGINEERING Ltd. June 10, 1966 [June 10, 1965], No. 24536/65. Heading A4U. A castor is secured to a tubular leg 14 by pushing a screw-threaded upper castor component 8 carrying a rubber or plastic bush 11 into the leg and then rotating the componet 8 so that a nut 13, which is prevented from rotating by engaging the inside of the leg, causes the bush to expand circumferentially. The nut 13 either has a longitudinal groove 13a or a flat which engages an inwardly projecting seam in the leg. The component 8 is tubular and is formed integrally with the upper part 7 of a ball-race housing. A plain centre stem 6 is rotatable in the component 8 and is held against axial movement by an annular shoulder 6a abutting the upper end of the component 8.
