Abstract

1,097,349. Transfers. ADHESIVOS INDUSTRIALES NUNEZ S.L. June 14, 1966 [June 14, 1965], No. 26431/66. Heading B6C. A transfer for use in the manufacture of a sign or advertisement displayed on a supporting surface comprises a sheet or strip 1 of rigid transparent P.V.C. imaged on the face applied to the supporting surface said image being backed by a suitably coloured background. In the manufacture of the transfer the imaged face of the sheet or strip 1 is covered with an emulsion of a dyestuff in acetone. The subsequent evaporation of the acetone forms a coating of dyestuff which becomes substantially integral with the P.V.C. A layer of pressure sensitive adhesive is applied to the dyestuff coating the adhesive faced coating being covered prior to the use of the transfer by a sheet or strip of temporary protective paper or plastics. The P.V.C. may be imaged by a stamping tool.
