Abstract

1314722 Transfers J G J PIRON 19 April 1971 [2 April 1970] 15730/70 Heading B6C A transfer sheet comprises a support sheet 1 of cellulose acetate, an image such as the letters L, M or N printed with ink so that the letters project from the sheet 1 in relief and a layer 3 of liquid ink in microcapsules over each letter. When the imaged face of the sheet 1 is placed against a receptive sheet the microcapsules are ruptured through the application of pressure and the ink released is transferred. The support sheet 1 is advantageously of a translucent or transparent material and the ink of the capsules is preferably water based. The ink of the letters L, M or N may be formulated from cellulose acetate dibutyl phthalate, methyl acetate, ethyl acetate and diacetone alcohol.
