Abstract

1,096,526. Shoe cleaning machines. R. BLANC and F. DOSKOCIL. July 21, 1965 [July 24, 1964; July 9, 1965], No. 30975/65. Heading A4F. A shoe cleaning and polishing machine comprises one or more stations at each of which is an endless belt 2 mounted on pair of vertical rollers 6, 7, 8 and having opposite sides inclined towards one another and spaced bundles of brush bristles 9 on its inner surface for dusting, applying polish to, and polishing a shoe worn on a foot placed on a rest 19 within the space enclosed by the belt 2. The latter is driven either to and fro or unidirectionally. Additionally a part spherical brush 17 rotated by a belt 14 is disposed so as to clean the upper part of the toe of the shoe. The machine may be automatically controlled and actuated by coin mechanism, and shoe polish injected on to the bristles 9 at an appropriate stage of the operation of the machine.
