Abstract
1,096,170. Diazotype materials containing ultraviolet absorbers. J.R. GEIGY A. G. Dec. 3, 1965 [Dec. 4, 1964], No.51429/65. Heading G2C. A diazotype film comprises a cellulose acetate support the surface of which is saponified and coated with a solution containing a diazonium compound an ultraviolet absorber which is a 2-hydroxy-phenylbenztriazole, a 2-hydroxyphenyl aryl ketone, a 2-hydroxyphenyl triazine or a 2- hydroxy xanthone and, optionally, a fluorescent compound substantive to cellulose hydrate. In the examples, a cellulose 2¢ acetate film is saponified in an alkaline solution containing the ultraviolet absorbing compound, dried and coated with a solution containing 4-diazo-2-ethoxydiphenylamine. The material is imagewise exposed in an alkaline developer containing an azo coupler to produce a dye image.
