Abstract

1,095,872. Heat insulated pipes. PARK SECTIONAL INSULATING CO. Ltd. March 21, 1966 [March 29, 1965], No. 13202/65. Heading F2P. [Also in Division F4] Each section 11, 11a, 11b of a flue 10 comprises an inner liner 14 and an outer sleeve 17 having disposed between them a fibrous mat 16 of insulating material, adjacent sections being held together by means of inner 12 and outer 13 connecting pieces having, mid-way along their length, an outwardly projecting rib (19) and an inwardly projecting rib (18) respectively, said ribs ensuring that only half of a connecting piece enters into one section. A further rib (15), adjacent the ends of the inner liner, provides a further stop for connector pieces 12. In a modification (Fig. 3), each flue section has a tapered inner liner, which at the narrow end projects beyond the outer sleeve to form a spigot, said spigot making a push fit into the wider end of the adjacent section. Flanges are secured to both ends of the outer sleeve to hold the insulating material in position. In a further modification (Figs. 4 and 5) the flange nearest the spigot is provided with headed studs which engage keyhole slots provided in the flange, furthest from the spigot, of the adjacent section.
