Abstract
1,003,624. Pipes and tubes. TECALEMIT (ENGINEERING) Ltd. April 9, 1962 [April 20, 1961], No. 13559/62. Heading F2P. The invention relates to a method of fitting in its place of use a synthetic plastic pipe 1 provided with at least one reinforcement 3 at least part of the cross-section of which falls outside of the wall of the pipe. The reinforcement may be provided at the end of a radially or tangentially extending web, the reinforcement being either covered with and moulded into the material of the pipe (Figs. 4, 6, not shown), or forced into a channel in the end of the web (Fig. 5, not shown). A reinforcement may be of an I or H cross-section being half embedded in the pipe (Fig. 7, not shown). The reinforcement is cut transversely at several points or removed altogether from a section of piping when the pipe is fitted in its place of use. The cutting is performed before or after the pipe is bent into its required shape and, in the case of the construction in which the reinforcement is inserted in the channel of the radially extending web, the reinforcement is cut before or after the fitting of the reinforcement in the channel.
