Abstract

1,095,795. Stands. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. March 26, 1965, No. 12909/65. Heading A4H. A stand, e.g. for supporting a microphone or a photographic floodlight, comprises a channel section support member 32 having a boom 28 coupled to its top end in such manner that the boom may be adjustably displaced along its longitudinal axis and may be rotated in a vertical plane about a pivot 40. As shown the channel section boom 38 is releasably clamped in a channel section bracket 42 carried by a pivoted bracket 41 which itself is releasably clamped in adjusted angular setting by a hand wheel 44. The boom 38 is of a size to nest within the support 32 when the former is rotated to a vertical setting. Alternatively, the boom 38 and support 32 may be coupled by a ball joint to permit also rotation of the boom about a vertical axis. The support 32 is telescopically adjustable within a hollow pedestal 10 fitted with upwardly folding legs 11 having non-slip feet 15 and a base weighting member 26. A counterweight may be applied to the boom 38. Further telescoping members may be fitted between the support 32 and pedestal 10 and the boom 38 may be telescopic.
