Abstract
1,095,271. Controlled non-linear inductors. SOC. TECHNIQUE POUR L'INDUSTRIE NOUVELLE S.A. May 4, 1965 [May 14, 1964], No. 18623/65. Heading H3B. Two or more transductors, Fig. 8, each having two cores 81, 82 and 83, 84, having a common control winding 85 which embraces all cores, the arrangement operating as a relay having normally open and normally closed contacts. The impedance of a winding 87 is high in the absence of a control winding current, but drops, due to saturation of cores 81, 82, when a control current flows, so that terminals 871, 872 represent normally open contacts. A resistive winding 86 on cores 83, 84 is A.C. energized and forms the primary of a transformer whose secondary 88 produces an output voltage only when the cores are not saturated by a control current (in 85); this output is rectified (77, Fig. 7, not shown) and used to control a normally open arrangement similar to that on cores 81, 82, which arrangement is thus rendered normally closed with respect to the control current in the control winding 85. A further embodiment (Fig. 9, not shown) provides, on the same principle, two pairs of normally open contacts (981, 982, and 983, 984) and two pairs of normally closed contacts (991, 992 and 993, 994). An extra saturating winding 89 (997) may be provided on both cores of the transformer arrangement.
