Abstract
1,074,702. Transformers. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Feb. 5, 1965 [Feb. 7, 1964], No. 5278/64. Heading H1T. [Also in Division H2] The output of secondaries S1, S2 (Fig. 2) is controlled by means of current in the control winding common to the two cores shown, the windings being so arranged that, if the control winding becomes short-circuited, opposing voltages develop therein due to linkage with the shunting core limbs E1F1, E2F2 and the primary flux passes through these shunt limbs by-passing the limbs carrying the secondary windings S1, S2. A modified arrangement is described (Fig. 5, not shown) incorporating two five-limbed cores with one of two common control windings supplemented by a further winding fed back through a rectifier bridge from series connected secondaries (see Division H2).
