Abstract

109,526. Gaymer, J. H. Nov. 3, 1916. Safety-valves.-A spring-loaded relief valve has a flexible valve face F adapted to engage a seat formed with a series of concentric grooves B. The valve face is mounted on a piston E loosely fitting in a cylinder C provided with outlet holes D. The cylinder is held between the base A and a cover H by bolts P passing through holes G and K in the piston and cover respectively and fitted with nuts Q. The cover H is provided with a central boss J on which an abutment for the spring 0 slides. This abutment is adjusted by a screw L secured in position by a lock-nut M which has a flange adapted to engage the flats on the nuts Q and so lock them in position also.
