Abstract

In a stuffer-box crimper, the feed rollers are so profiled as to deform a tow or yarn bundle (passing therethrough and forced thereby into the compression chamber) and thus impart to the tow &c., a toothed, zig-zag, undulating, or curved profile extending in a plane parallel to the rollers' axes. The resultant complex, three-dimensional crimp may be further promoted by moving the tow &c., to and fro between the rollers in an axial direction thereof.
