Abstract

1,092,220. Valves. ANDALE REPETITION ENGINEERING PROPRIETARY Ltd. Feb. 11, 1965 [Feb. 14, 1964], No. 6032/65. Heading F2V. In a spindle assembly which may be employed in the valve of Specification 1,069,004 or 1,092,219, for dispensing beer, dismantling thereof for cleaning is facilitated by a bayonet coupling between a gland housing 4, sealed to the valve body by " O " ring 5, and a sleeve 14 retaining a spring 13 which abuts a " C " washer 11 to seat the valve closure. The bayonet coupling comprises diametrically opposed pins 15 which project radially out from the upper end of the gland housing 4 and are insertable, against spring 9, along axially extending recesses 16 within sleeve 14 and, upon rotation of housing 4, are displaceable through 90 degrees along a sleeve shoulder 17 to lock within recesses 18 formed therein by radially drilled holes 19. Spring 9 abuts between a spindle stop formed by a washer 10 and the upper of a pair of ferrules 8 between which is compressed " O " ring 7 effecting a seal with the spindle 1.
