Abstract
996,602. Valves. E. G. IMBRANT. Sept. 29, 1961 [Feb. 1, 1961; May 30, 1961], No. 35403/61. Heading F2V. A valve for mixing hot and cold water has a sleeve-shaped rotary valve member 3 with openings 10, 11 to correspond with the ports 12, 13 for hot and cold water which is discharged through holes 16 and 17 into a mixing chamber 19 in communication with an outlet 29 through a manually controllable stop valve 27. The sleeve is provided with an internal partition 18, a packing 6 and a finger grip 8 carrying a member 30 to limit the angular displacement. Fittings 20, 21 screwed into projections 15 on the housing each contain a non-return 22 having projections 26 to prevent closure of the parts 12, 13. The openings 10, 11 are arranged to ensure that some cold water is always mixed with the hot water. In two further embodiments, the valve member turns on a vertical axis and discharges into a mixing chamber arranged vertically beneath it and connected by a pipe to an upper chamber containing the stop valve.
