Abstract

1,048,375. Valves. SOC. GENERALE DE FONDERIE. Sept. 22, 1964, No. 38679/64. Heading F2V. A mixing valve comprises a housing 1 having inlets 2, 3 and an outlet 4. A valve member 6 is rotatable and reciprocable in the housing by a handle 17 to control the proportion of the two liquids and the total flow. Sealing rings 19, 20 are provided in the inlets, the rings being loaded by springs 22, 23 or by the liquid pressure. The valve member may be provided with two grooves 25, 26 of tapering depth on either side of the centre separated by a land 28 which serves as a support for the sealing rings. A bore 30 through the valve member serves to pressure balance the valve member. In a modification, two separate grooves are provided spaced around the valve member. In a further modification one groove is provided and the inlets are arranged at 90 degrees.
