Abstract

1,086,629. Holders for cartridge fuzes. V. RUSSENBERGER. April 12, 1965 [April 17, 1964; March 3, 1965], No. 15407/65. Heading H2G. One end of a cartridge fuze 28 is held in the resilient socket end of a translucent removable member 22 and when the member is inserted in a tubular holder 2, 6, the other end of the fuze engages a sliding plunger contact 11 which may be connected to a lead 10. A conducting plate 29 is retained in the member 22 so as to be engaged by the end of the fuze and has opposed projections which engage in bayonet slots in curved blades 13, 14 held in the holder 2, 6. The blades are staggered so that only the blade 13 is actually contacted to complete the circuit through the fuze to a lead 18. When the fuze blows, an indicating circuit, through a resistor 19, the blade 14, a coil spring 35 on the member 22 and a lamp 37 within that member, becomes effective. The member 22 is held in the holder 2, 6, which has a mounting flange 3, by a resilient ring 25. In a modification, Figs. 6 and 7 (not shown), the blade 14 is shaped so that the member 22 can be retained within the holder in two positions, in one of which the blade 13 is not contacted so that the circuit through the fuze is broken.
