Abstract

A photographic material which is light-sensitive when moist comprises a support bearing a layer of a water-permeable colloid binder containing lead iodide and sodium thiosulphate. On imagewise exposure of the moist layer to high intensity light, a latent image is formed which is developed by uniform exposure to light of a relatively low intensity producing initially a visible negative image; on further exposure to low intensity light a positive image is obtained. The negative or positive images are stabilized by drying the layer. In the Example, a light-sensitive lead iodide emulsion is prepared by adding a solution of lead nitrate, potassium iodide and dextrin to a gelatine solution containing mucochloric acid and sodium thiosulphate; after exposure both positive and negative images were obtained by photo-development.
