Abstract

1,085,746. Brazing. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. April 4, 1966 [April 22, 1965], No. 14783/66. Heading B3R. In a resistance brazing process the metallic parts together with the brazing metal are pressed together while immersed in or flooded with water and a heavy electric current passed through the assemblage to braze the parts together. In a specific example a brazing material containing 45% silver, 15% copper, 16% zinc and 24% cadmium was used to braze together a steel spark plug shell and an electrode of material known by the Registered Trade Mark "Inconel", the assemblage being immersed in water for the brazing operation.
