Abstract
1,215,021. Current collectors. INSTYTUT METALURGII ZELAZA Im. ST. STASZICA. 28 Dec., 1967 [28 Dec., 1966], No. 58944/67. Heading H2E. [Also in Division C7] A flat brush electrode for resistance heating of a metal strip a, comprises bodies 1 carrying brush wires 4 engaging opposite sides of the strip, the bodies being formed with chambers 2 for cooling fluid and further chambers 3 containing jets for spraying cooling fluid on to the strip. A valve (9) enables fluid to be passed from chamber 2 into chamber 3, or not, as desired. Bodies 1 are mounted on a sleeve (10) so that they may be simultaneously moved against the strip, whilst being maintained parallel.
