Abstract
1329571 Brazing JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd 15 Dec 1970 [2 Jan 1970] 329/70 Heading B3R In brazing a brush carrier 14 to an electrical lead 13 and to a brush 12 for a dynamoelectric machine, a brazing alloy 11 containing silver, copper and phosphorus is provided between the carrier and brush and between the carrier and the electrical lead 13, the carrier, and brush and lead are arranged between the electrodes 15, 15 of, a resistance welding tool and a current and pressure are produced between the electrodes 15, 15 to melt the brazing alloy and braze the carrier, brush and lead together. The alloy which may contain 15% Ag, 80% Cu, 5%P is provided on the brush and between the lead and carrier in the form of oil or powder and the brush 12 is formed of copper based alloy and the carrier 14 is formed from copper, copper plated steel or copper based alloy. An alternating current is passed through the electrodes 15, 15. The carrier 14 may have an outward flange on its end remote from the brush.
