Abstract
1331536 Making commutators OLIN CORP 19 April 1971 [4 Feb 1970] 20348/71 Heading B3A [Also in Division H2] Commutator segments comprise a base component 14 of iron alloy bonded to a surface component 16 of copper alloyed with at least 10 oz. per ton silver. The iron may be alloyed with C, Cr, Ni or Mr, and the copper alloy may contain O, Zn as impurities. The segments are separated from each other after a plastics bush has been cast within them, and have integral fingers 8 for resistance welding to armature wires 6.
