Abstract

1,085,675. Curving. S. VAN TUIJN. May 5, 1966 [June 4, 1965], No. 19839/66. Heading B3E. Apparatus for curving elongated material comprises three parallel bending rollers, two on the outside of the bend produced and one on the inside which is positioned to engage the work at a point between the points of engagement of the other two rollers, one of the outside rollers being adjustable about the axis of the inside roller. Roller shafts 4, 5, 18 are intergeared and driven. The roller shaft 18 is carried by a pair of arms adjustable about the axis of the roller shaft 4, along an arcuate groove 11 in the machine frame, by pinions 14, rotated by a handwheel 17, engaging toothed segments 10 on the frame. The work, which may be sheet, profiled rod or tubing, is curved between rollers on the shafts 5, 18 on the one hand and an inside roller on the shaft 4 on the other hand, the adjusted position of the roller on the shaft 18 determining the radius of the bend.
