Abstract
The method and apparatus is for recoiling coils of cold worked tubing. It includes a set of three rolls for bending the tubing to change its diameter in succeeding convolutions, and at the same time to rotate the set of rolls in an opposite direction to the circular direction of the originally formed convolutions. This has the effect of avoiding the tubing being subject to any torsional forces during the recoiling. During bending, the working force is orbitted about the axes of formation causing the convolutions to emerge as three non-rotating bodies.
