Abstract

1,085,185. Seals. ACME SEALS Ltd. Aug. 26, 1966 [Sept. 10, 1965], No. 38856/65. Heading B6P. The ends of a flexible strip are locked together by entering a slotted end of the strip into the U-shaped other end thereof to cause a downwardly directed resilient tooth 10 to enter the slot (14) in the slotted end. The slotted end is then pulled in the opposite direction to cause a tongue 15 on an edge of the slot 14 to be bent upwardly by the tooth 10. On release the slotted end moves a short distance to allow a V-shaped projection 13 on the U-shaped end to enter an aperture 16 in the tongue 15. The tooth 10 is formed on the end of the upright of a T-shaped spring member 9 the cross bar of which is engaged at its ends between corrugated flanges of a box (2) enclosing the U-shaped end of the strip. The tooth 10 also passes through holes (11, 12) in the U-shaped end.
