Abstract
1,084,775. Spray-producers. B. SCHONDORFF [trading as WILHELM HEGENSCHEIDT KOMM GES], Dec. 15, 1964, No. 51046/64. Heading B2F. [Also in Division F2] Workpieces to be cleaned are moved past nozzles providing jets of pressurised water impinging thereon, the nozzles each following a path of rotation in planes located outside the workpieces. In Fig. 1 only one nozzle is shown the other being located on the other side of the workpiece. Each nozzle I is coupled to a head 3 which is rotatable about a water supply pipe 2. The nozzle is rotatably adjustable, under the control of a hand wheel 7, about a radial pipe leading to a further pipe 6 which is similarly adjustable about a tube 4 extending from the head 3. Thus the jet may be adjusted to extend parallel to the axis of pipe 2, at an angle thereto to describe the outline of a cone whose axis is in line with the axis of the pipe 2, or at other angles. In the first two cases mechanical means are employed to effect rotation, and in the third case the reaction pressure will, in some positions, produce rotation. In a modification the head 3 has connections for two nozzles. In other modifications Figs. 6 and 7 (not shown) the supply pipes are carried by pipes which are caused to oscillate or reciprocate. In a further modification. Fig. 5 (not shown) the head 3 is mounted for rotation on a hollow piston rod arranged in a cylinder for limited axial adjustment.
