1,082,787. Automatic voltage control. AUTOMATIC TIMING & CONTROLS Inc. May 24, 1966, No. 23027/66. Heading G3R. [Also in Division G1] A voltage regulator 14 (Fig. 2) produces two regulated positive voltages and one negative voltage. The smaller of the positive voltages, on lead 27, is regulated by the combined effects of transistors 54, 56. The base voltage of transistor 54 is controlled by a Zener diode 50, and its emitter voltage is maintained at the same value by automatic adjustment of emitter-collector current of transistor 56 to vary the voltage drop across resistor 57, between the input and output voltages. The regulated voltage on lead 27 is fed to the emitter of transistor 41, so that together with transistor 46 it regulates the voltage at + V. D. C. The voltage at - V. D. C. is regulated by the combination of Zener diode 42 and transistor 48. The circuit includes current-limiting resistors 40, 44; capacitors 49, 58 prevent oscillation due to feedback.
