Abstract

1,082,600. Valves. J. O. W. HARRIS. Aug. 3, 1966, No. 34747/66. Heading F2V. A float-controlled cistern supply valve comprises a valve closure member having two elements of which a first spherical or disc element 10 co-operates with a seat 13 to close the valve and a second element 11 of a diameter which is smaller than cylindrical portion 14 of the seat acts to throttle the flow prior to closure of the valve. The valve closure is carried by a plunger 15 and actuated by a float on an arm 19. The float may be partially filled with liquid to provide a loading on the valve.
