Abstract

1,082,005. Automatic train control. SIEMENS A.G. May 4, 1965 [May 4, 1964], No. 18830/65. Heading B7N. In a railway signalling system in which information is transmitted to a train via conductor loops L, defining track zones 1, 2, which are energized from coded current transmitters (not shown), the conductor loop of zone 1 is terminated by a circuit including relay R which has a contact R1 in series with an impedance Z1 which with impedance Z2 forms the terminal impedance of the conductor loop of zone 2. Should coded current in loop 1 fail when a train is stopped at the junction of the two loops, relay R releases and opens the circuit to impedance Z1 whereby the current in the part of loop between the two impedances drops to zero and pick-up by the train of signals in the loop associated with section 2 is prevented.
