Abstract

1,066,355. Jointless track circuits. COMPAGNIE DE SIGNAUX ET D'ENTREPRISES ELECTRIQUES. July 8, 1964 [July 11, 1963], No. 28191/64. Heading B7N. A jointless track circuit comprising a pair of transmitters EF1 and EF2 operating at frequencies F1 and F2, respectively, connected across the track R1, R2 at the extremities of the circuit, a transformer T connected across the track at a point substantially midway between the transmitters and connected to a receiver R which develops an output to operate relay RV when supplied with signals at frequencies F1 and F2 and provides no output when at least one of the signals is greatly attenuated. The receiver includes band-pass circuits 1, 2 which separate the signals at frequencies F1 and F2, a modulator 3 which develops an output signal at frequency f (which may be F1 - F2), a band-pass filter 4 tuned to frequency f, an amplifier 5 and rectifier 6. In an automatic block signalling system the output of transformer T may be connected to the receiver R via an existing block line.
