Abstract

107,876. Hall, I. Sept. 20, 1916. Gaseous-fuel furnaces.- In furnaces in which gas and air are supplied to a plurality of burners as described in Specification 12,695/15, [Class 75 (i), Burners &c.], from distributing chambers c, d, so as to mix in the supply tubes g, the burner nozzles a are so arranged in relation to the openings b into the furnace that a supply of secondary air is induced. As shown applied to a crucible furnace, the openings b are tangential. The application to a muffle furnace is described and illustrated in the Specification, the burner openings being opposite one another in the lower part of the furnace. The burner nozzles are preferably flared.
