Liquid-fuel furnaces.-In a combustion apparatus for liquid fuel, the flames from burners D are directed against a bridge wall E', and the products of incomplete combustion pass to the furnace to be heated through a flue H, in which a mixing with secondary air, drawn through passages G<1> and ports G<5>, is effected by the baffling action of a steam jet K. The primary air for the burners is heated in a chamber E in the bridge. The steam jet is preferably delivered between the inner ends of obliquely-arranged baffle walls J<1>. According to the Provisional Specification, gaseous-fuel burners may be used.
