[Also in Division F4] A bracket for attaching a miner's cap lamp to a miner's helmet comprises a tongue engaging a slot in the lamp or helmet, portions defining a slot for engaging a tongue on the helmet or lamp and means interconnecting the tongue and portions to provide a pivotal frictionally controlled joint for their relative displacement. In the form shown, the first member 1 is angled to provide a tongue 3 to be received in a clip or slot in the helmet and has downwardly depending portions 5 with aligned apertures 6. The second member 2 is U-shaped with aligned apertures 8 and encloses a U- shaped member 10 with aligned apertures 11 and slots 13 which receive pressed-in portions 14 of the member 2. A bolt 7 passes through the apertures 8, 6, 11 and through a spacing washer 16 between the limbs of the member 10 so that the portions 5 of the member 1 are arranged between limbs of the members 2 and 10. The bights of the members 2 and 10 form a slot to receive a tongue on the cap lamp. The tongue 3 can, alternatively, be rigidly secured to the helmet or the members 2 and 10, or the member only rigidly secured to the cap lamp. Control of the pivoting movement is provided by the frictional engagament of members 1 and 2 effected by tightening of the bolt 7, the members being resilient and formed of e.g. sheet metal or plastics material. Also a resilient washer - e.g. of rubber, may be provided between the members and/or their opposed faces may be roughened.
