Abstract

1,075,843. Container for inflatable craft. R.F.D. CO. Ltd. Feb. 16, 1966 [March 22, 1965], No. 12085/65. Heading B7S. A container for an inflatable life-saving equipment comprises two shells (10, 11) the open sides of which are arranged to be connected together in juxtaposed relationship, the edge of each shell being formed with an outwardly directed flange (10a, 11a), the outer part (10b) of which is turned through an angle so as to be in substantial alignment with, but directed away from, the corresponding flange part (11b) of the outer shell when the two shells are mated together, and a continuous connecting band (13) of stiff but deformable material for embracing the flanges to hold the two shells together at least while normal pressure conditions prevail in the container. The connecting band is C-shaped in crosssection and uncurls to release the flanges when they are forced apart by inflation of the equiment in the container. The band may be formed with a weakened section (13c).
