A beam comprises three or more parallel, spaced apart, longitudinal chord members 2, 3, 4 lying in a common plane each pair being interconnected by a web 1 having transverse corrugations presenting flat crest and trough portions 5 braced by transverse portions 6. The edges of the portions 5 project beyond the edges of the portions 6 to provide recesses in the webs within which the chord members 2, 3, 4 are fitted and secured. The chord members may be of wood whilst the web members are of metal.
