Abstract

In a burner device for use with a pressurized source of air supply and including a duct 4 for the supply of fuel in gaseous form under pressure, the duct 4, having a cross-section considerably smaller than that of the air supply passage 1, is provided with one or more jet discharge orifices in the form of branch tubes 5 with transverse tubes 6 and orifices 10 on the downstream side, extends transversely to the air passage 1, and has baffle members each consisting of a flat rectangular plate arranged in front of the fuel discharge orifice so that intermixture of air and fuel takes place not earlier than the circumferential edge of the baffle in the vortex area downstream thereof. In a modification the fuel supply duct is concentric with a cylindrical air duct and has four radial tubes transverse to the air duct provided with a common circular baffle plate.
