Abstract

107,226. Stone & Co., J., and Parsons, W. S. June 16, 1916. Impellers in parallel; pumping-machines; casings.-Two impellers are reversely arranged on a shaft to produce hydraulic balance and glands are arranged on the delivery sides of the respective impellers. In one construction, the two impellers draw liquid from a central suction chamber. In the pumping plant shown on Fig. 3, the shaft is driven directly by a turbine t and carries an impeller b at each end. The glands d are carried by end covers n of the casing, which are of a size to facilitate removal of the impellers.
