Abstract

In a radiator of the type having spaced-apart fin plates penetrated by fluid flow tubes (shown as tubes of narrow elongated cross-section, Fig. 1), spacers are formed by cutting into and sub sequently bending the plate material in the space between two neighbouring tubes, said spacers comprising at least one trapezoidal lug whose height is equal to the fin spacing, whose large base is integral with the fin and whose small base is displaced relative to the large base to prevent penetration into a corresponding cut in an adjacent fin. Each spacer may be a protrusion from one side of a short wide tongue (9) cut and bent at the same time as the lug, Fig. 3 (not shown). Two spacers may be formed by a single cut, Fig. 5 (not shown), having respective lugs (10 1 , 10 2 ) and tongues (9a, 9b) the spacers being bent perpendicular to the plane of the fin.
