Abstract

1,068,689. Sewing machines. FRITZ GEGAUF, A. G. BERNINA-NAHMASCHINENFABRIK. Nov. 29, 1963 [April 18, 1963], No. 47260/63. Heading -D 1 G. The eye of a vertically-oscillating thread take-up lever may be threaded through a slot so arranged as to prevent disengagement of the thread during sewing. A take-up lever 9, pivoted at its inner end 10 on a crank pin (4), is pivoted intermediately at 11 to a swinging arm (12). The outer part 14 of lever 9 is inclined at 45 degrees to the vertical when lever 9 is in its uppermost position. The free end of lever 9 is formed with a thread-receiving eye 15 into which opens an upwardlyinclined thread-guiding slot 16 having a curved entrance 19. In a modification a protuberance on the upper surface of slot 16 enters a recess in the lower surface of slot 16. In a further modification the surfaces of slot 16 are labyrinthine.
