Abstract

1,068,469. Floor scrubbing machines. R. E. CAIN. Aug. 10, 1965 [Aug. 13, 1964], No. 34214/65. Heading A4F. A floor scrubbing machine comprises a manually propelled wheeled frame 10, 12 having at its forward end a scrubbing unit driven by a motor 27, a tank 19 for cleaning liquid to be fed to the floor through a valve controlled tube 28, a tank 11 for receiving used cleaning liquid withdrawn from the floor by a suction fan (not shown) through a suction squeegee 39 carried by an arm 37 pivotally connected by a universal joint 38 to a cross-frame member 36. During changes in direction of movement of the machine the arm 37 may pivot about a vertical axis; and when the squeegee is not in use the arm 37 may be pivoted upwardly and held by the engagement of an apertured lug 44 thereon with a catch 43.
