1,064,663. Refuse receptacles. C.A.H. INDUSTRIES Inc. June 12, 1964, No. 24480/64. Heading A4A. Elements 6, 7, 8 of stamped or spun metal are welded together at their peripheries 16, 18 and 19, 23 to form a closure seating on the mouth of a waste receptacle and smothering an incipient fire. The element 8 forms an input 11 for waste matter and, with the elements 6, 7, a hollow annulus into which combustion gas passes and is deflected along the line of the arrows 28, 29 to obstruct entry of air through the input 11 to sustain the fire.
