Abstract

1,063,407. Shelving. H. SCHAFER and T. SCHAFER, [trading as FRITZ SCHAFER KOMM.-GES]. July 16, 1965 [July 16, 1964], No. 30400/65. Heading A4B. A shelving structure comprises a sheet metal base 1 and top 2 spaced apart by four corner uprights (3) received in pockets 5, 6 formed in the base 1 and top 2, the base pockets 5 being each formed by a pair of adjacent downturned sides of the base and a sheet metal angle piece (12) welded to these sides and to the underside of the base 1. The base 1 and top 2 are clamped on to the uprights (3) by cooperating pairs of rods or tubes 22 having notches 28 at one end for hook engagement with the base and top, the rods 22 of each pair being interconnected by plates formed with a tubular central portion 25 to receive a clamping screw 26 with a wing nut 27. The uprights (3) are formed with spaced, stamped out projections (3<SP>1</SP>) to support shelves. The top 2 is formed with upwardly pressed ridges (21) to locate a similar shelving structure stacked thereon.
