106,144. Cammell, Laird, & Co., and Carter, G. J. May 16, 1916. Portable turning-apparatus.-A device for trueing the male members of pipe unions in situ comprises a frame with pivoted arms b having interchangeable jaws to engage the union and clamped by a swinging frame D. Chuck-like work-holding means may be provided. A screwed sleeve G in the frame, receives a spindle F carrying a cutter and a hand-crank and filled with a ball thrust bearing. In a modification, the part C of the frame has a plain box, and the sleeve is fed by a nut engaging the end of the frame.
