1,060,432. Centrifugal pumps. FRANZ EISELE & SOHNE. Jan.27, 1964 [Aug.2, 1963], No. 36513/66. Divided out of 1,060,431. Heading F1C. In a centrifugal pump for handling liquid manure, at least one of the impeller blades e carries an interchangeable cutting plate g which brushes against a cutting ring i mounted on the circumference of the suction intake b to reduce the size of long pieces of straw and other solids in the manure, thereby preventing choking of the pump. The intake b widens towards the pump casing a and, as shown, is arranged off-centre in relation to the impeller axis whereby the blades e brush a segment only of the ring i. When this segment has become blunt, the ring i can be turned to bring a further segment into use.
